Special festivities at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences – 1026 Bachelor and Master diplomas for the graduates, including 126 international students and 53 students who graduated with honours. In all, 1341 graduate finished studies at the LSMU this year (1296 last year). The majority of diplomas were given to the future physicians.
“You are the first graduates when the country turns the page of a new centenary. Thank you for choosing the LSMU, I am grateful to your parents and the close people – today they are celebrating together with you. You are talented and you believe in that. You have achieved a lot, so do not stop. You have been and will always remain the members of our community, the door of the University is always open for you. I congratulate you”, - said Prof. R. Žaliūnas. The LSMU Rector also thanked the parents of the international students for the trust and meaningful investment in their children, which opens a lot of doors of the promising career. In addition, at the diploma delivery celebration, the Chairmain of the LSMU Council Prof. Vilius Jonas Grabauskas, the Ambassador of Israel Mr Amir Maimon, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People‘s Republic of China H.E. Mr. Zhifei Shen, bishop Algirdas Jurevičius greeted the LSMU community, graduates and their family members.
One of the most moving moments was the solmen oath of the Medical, Odontology, Pharmacy and Nursing faculties graduates in front of the honorable guests, teachers, family and medical colleagues. “May all my life be dedicated to serve the mankind. I shall protect the life of a human being and its inviolability form the very beginning until natural death, I shall respect its dignity”, - the future medicals repeated the words of oath with great emotion. At present there are 8 thousand students at the LSMU. It is one of the most international universities in the country – students from more than 50 countries are studying here. The LSMU graduates are highly demanded in the labour market and they are apreciated by the employers. More than 80% of bachelors and about 90% of masters are recruited during the first year after the graduation. This is one of the best indicators in Lithuania.
