The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) international programme coordinators A. Surantienė and L. Dobilienė, during their visit to Dublin, promoted studies at a higher education fair, organised the entrance examination and met the agents, a University graduate and visited the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Ireland.
Medicine and Veterinary Medicine studies attracted the most attention at the international higher education fair. It is nice to admit that the LSMU Medical Faculty alumnus, who graduated in 2011, Umer Cheema, also participated in the fair. He works at the Ireland hospital (Cheltenham General Hospital) as a doctor in psychiatry. The University representatives provided detailed information about the studies to all the interested while the alumnus kindly shared his impressions and experience with the young people and their parents.
On 12 March 5 applicants successfully passed the entrance examination to the LSMU and were invited to study in the LSMU Medicine, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine programmes. Students’ recruitment to the University was discussed with the Irish agents. During the meeting, the new study programmes in English “Nursing” and “Occupational Therapy” were particularly discussed in order to find out the demand of these programmes in Ireland.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Ireland R. Adomaitienė and the Counsellor V. Umbrasienė kindly welcomed the University representatives. During the meeting, the information about the University, students and the International Relations and Study Center activities was provided. It is pleasing that the Embassy shares the information about studies at the LSMU with the Lithuanian community of this country.
